Looking Forward 2017 {Linky Party}

Hello there!

At less than 10 days from the new year 2017, I want us to get together and share with one another our hopes and dreams for 2017!

Please grab the picture below, add you info and link up below!

Two new things I will try in the classroom:
We've been doing small groups since the first week of school, but now I would like to introduce rotations of three different activities - twice per week. Usually, I incorporate rotations right after fall break (October) but this class is different from any other class I've ever had. So, I'll cross my fingers and teach them how to rotate from one activity to the next.
The other thing is the introduction of Morning Message.

One thing I will change is my current small groups arrangement. Too long to explain ;)

One successful thing I will continue to do: The skill based individualized activities. My students are blossoming in their own way. Identifying where they are and picking up from there has worked successfully for my students.

Seven tips and tricks I'd like to share with fellow teachers:
•Have your week ahead planned and ready - nothing better than the feeling of the following week ready to go.
•Be organized - Have a place for everything in your classroom. This will save you time and energy.
•Delegate appropriate tasks on volunteers - Rely in volunteers. I have some awesome volunteers I can trust can get the job done, either in the classroom or at home.
•Be proactive, not reactive! - Try to anticipate potential problems instead of  finding ways to deal with the already-in progress situation.
•Collaborate with your grade team - I have the fortune to have a co-teacher and an instructional assistant. We discuss the plans of the day, delegate specific tasks for each one of us, as well as activities to do with the students.
•See each child as a unique individual (even though you’ve had 3 of his/her siblings) - I have the younger child of a family of 6. I taught from the child #2. Honestly, I had my mind set on how I thought the child was going to behave in the classroom. Turns out, I was wrong!

•Take time to yourself! - Take some time to do things for you. Not for your students, not for the classroom. But something you'd enjoy!

Happy New 2017!!!
